What do we do?

Throughout the school year PETALS organise fundraising events such as Discos, Parties, Summer and Christmas Fayres. These create much needed funds for the school and provide a fun and inventive way to support the school. We also help raise funds through EasyFundraising, Bags2School, CD Bell and Supermarket Voucher Schemes.

What happens to funds that we have raised?

Over the years we have raised a huge amount of funds for the school, which directly benefits our children. In the last seven years we have raised over £30,000. Some of the major purchases have been the hall PE equipment, £5500 towards the trim trail, PCs and benching, printers, laptops and software, whiteboard, 2 picnic tables, Robins Story Chair, money towards curriculum resources, author visits and visiting theatre productions. As well as money towards school trips, curriculum and much, much more!

How can you help?

PETALS are always in need of new committee members to continue the good work that we do and also for the fresh ideas that new members bring! We are currently a healthy sized committee with over 10 members which allows us to carry on our good work without too much workload on one person and a shared ethos of ‘many hands make light work’. You can give as little or as much time which suits you. Helping out as an active member is a good way to make new friends and is very rewarding as you are actively supporting your child’s learning. By being a committee member you also have a vote on how funds are spent in school.

If you are unable to spare the time to be on the committee then you could always become a "PETALS PAL". By becoming a PAL you are letting us know that you would like to be available to help out at events. This way we can call on you for help when required.

You can let us know if you wish to become a "PAL" by completing the form below.

When do we meet?

We hold a full committee meeting once every half term. The meetings are currently held in the evening and also some afternoons. We are pretty flexible and we work out what alternative suits everyone.

And finally...

PETALS would not be able to do the work that we do without the support of parents, grandparents, friends, teachers and staff who come to the events and help make them such a success. Many thanks to all those who help raise money for our children’s school. Your continued support is much appreciated and we look forward to seeing you at all our events in the future.
